Making PPE Amidst SARS-CoV-2 Part II
We've now updated the design to be two parts. For consistency's sake, the second part eliminates the need for a hose clamp, zip tie, or rubber band.
Instead, you now simply press in the filter material and then press a cap into the hole over the filter. This holds it in place without the need for a fastener of any kind.
We made this one on a markforged out of the carbon reinforced nylon. We haven't verified this, but we've heard reports that this material sterilizes better than typical 3D printed plastics. It's also extremely strong and flexible, making it more durable and comfortable.
Please email firstname.lastname@example.org if you'd like to get your hands on a mask or if you have feedback about how we could improve the design.
